his piece contains the words of a prayer from a Sarum primer of 1558, a collection of prayers put together in Old Sarum – now known as Salisbury in England. The prayer originally appeared in Latin on the title page of a ‘Book of Hours’ from 1514. These moving words are often sung as a gentle hymn in funerals but are equally used as prayer for guidance as we begin each new day. The design in the knot work at the centre of the cross is based on the Celtic Five Fold Meanings.
