his piece explores both the traditional idea of The Creation and ideas from literature and myth about how our world began. The foundation for this work is from the Book of Genesis and Tess has also introduced words and concepts from poetry, folk law and science.

 

The first window draws on The Raven Who Stole The Sun – a Native American legend about the Raven who wanted to share the Light with everyone so no one lived in darkness. The Sun in this window shows Maxwell’s equation for the beginning of the Universe. He was a Scottish scientist in the field of Mathematical Physics. It also depicts God’s command Let there be light.

 

The fourth window has an angel looking over the stars: The Lord made the stars, The Pleiades and Orion. Amos 5 v8. She is also Merope, the lost star of the Pleiades, who according to Greek mythology was the only one of the Seven Sisters who married a mortal.

 

The central window is day seven. The Raven shares the Sun with the world, God’s hand putting the Sun into the sky and the first sunrise.
