he design for this quote by Mother Teresa is a slight departure from many of Tess' more traditional works. She decided it needed to be stark to depict the painful wound we can sometimes experience when we truly love.
The love could be anything from being called to a cause or life to which we hadn’t imagined for ourselves, the wound that Jesus Christ suffered because of His love for us, or the wound of a relationship, romantic or otherwise. There are many situations in which we have to display a selflessness because we truly love. This may be letting go of someone we love because it is in their best interests, or it is for the greater good.
